Central Park Summer Concert Series

This summer marks the 31st annual Doylestown Township Thompson Performing Arts Series in Central Park. Since 1995, the small community event has grown into one of the township’s most beloved summer traditions.

Every summer the community continues to pop up and show out. Doylestown event organizers Cortnie Jones, Stephanie Mason, and Christian Farrell say that on concert nights, Central Park comes alive with families, friends, neighbors and visitors of all ages.

This event brings the community together. Whether riding a bicycle from a nearby neighborhood, taking the DART shuttle, or meeting up with friends after work, the concerts will have an array of attendees. Lounge on picnic blankets, enjoy food from local vendors, or dance all night; it will be a great time.

The series was created to provide residents with a free, family- friendly opportunity to gather in Central Park and enjoy live entertainment all summer long. After three successful decades, that mission remains the same.

Planning for each concert season begins a year in advance. The Doylestown team coordinates performers, sponsors, food vendors, transportation, logistics, staffing, volunteers, marketing, and countless behind-the-scenes details to ensure each event runs smoothly.

A tremendous amount of work goes into every concert, but organizers Jones, Mason, and Farrell say that seeing thousands of people gather at the amphitheater to enjoy music and make memories, makes it all worthwhile.

Their goal is simple. They will continue providing high- quality, accessible entertainment that brings people together for generations to come. They hope the series continues to create lasting memories, foster community connections, support local businesses and organizations, and inspire a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

Performers are chosen to appeal to a wide audience by featuring a mix of musical genres, tribute acts, local talent, and nationally touring artists. The township aims to always offer something exciting for everyone.

If this will be your first time enjoying the concert series, bring a friend, family member, your favorite lawn chair or blanket, and experience one of Doylestown Township’s most popular summer traditions.

Bring a picnic dinner or grab something from the food vendors and enjoy a cold beverage from Warwick Farm Brewing while exploring the sponsor displays and purchasing a ticket for the 50/50 raffle, and of course, settle in for a great evening of live music.

Jones, Mason, and Farrell say whether it’s your first concert or your 31st, there is something special about spending a summer evening in Central Park.

Crowd favorite Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac tribute band, StevieMac, kicked off the season on June 17th. Among the many great performers to come, the township is also excited to announce the welcome of Hot Diggity Dog food vendor, adding another delicious option for concertgoers.

With a fantastic lineup of musicians, great food, community partners, and beautiful summer evenings, the township is looking forward to another memorable season. Concerts at Central Park will be every Wednesday at 6:00 PM; 425 Wells Rd, Doylestown, PA.

Other local live music events this summer include Bucks Fever Tunes at Noon, every Friday at 12:00 PM in Peddler’s Village Main Green (Gazebo); Route 202 & Street Road, Lahaska, PA.

Every Wednesday at noon, catch concerts by local musicians, school bands, and theatre groups  at the Bucks County Courthouse Lawn, 55 E Court St, Doylestown, PA.

This July, don’t miss beloved local jazz and swing band, Doylestown Heat. They will be performing July 2nd at Broad Street Commons Park, (6:00 PM). The Community Summer Band is back July 9, 16, 23, and 30th at the Bucks County Administration Building (6:45 PM).
